Staying Safe on Chroniq

Last updated: June 2026

Chroniq connects buyers and sellers directly. Follow these tips to stay safe and avoid scams when buying or selling a luxury watch.

1. Never share financial details

Chroniq will never ask for your credit card, bank account, or OTP/PIN in chat.

Never share your credit card number, CVV, bank login, or one-time passwords (OTP) with a buyer or seller — no genuine watch deal needs them.

Be very suspicious of anyone asking for a 'deposit', 'customs fee', 'shipping fee', or 'verification charge' before you've seen the watch.

2. Don't click suspicious links

Don't open links sent in chat that ask you to 'confirm payment', 'verify your card', or log in to a site that isn't chroniq.ae.

Scammers copy real brand names (banks, delivery, escrow). When in doubt, don't click — and report it to us.

3. Inspect before you pay

Always view the watch in person before paying anything. Meet in a safe, public place or the dealer's showroom.

Have the watch independently authenticated, check the serial number, and inspect the box & papers and service records against the timepiece.

Never transfer money before you have the watch in hand and are satisfied it is genuine and as described.

4. Keep the conversation on Chroniq

Keep messages in Chroniq chat where possible — it helps us assist if something goes wrong.

If a buyer or seller behaves suspiciously, stop and report them to us at hello@chroniq.ae or via live chat.

Questions? Contact us at hello@chroniq.ae or +971 4 200 0000.
