Seller Terms
Last updated: September 2026
This page is a plain-language reading of our Terms of Service, written for one audience. It is not a separate agreement and it does not add to or reduce anything in the Terms. Where this page and the Terms of Service differ, the Terms apply. This one is for sellers: what you promise when you list a watch, what we do and do not do, and what happens if something turns out to be wrong.
1. The promise you make by listing
When you publish a listing you are making a legal promise about the watch. It is short, and it is the most important thing on this page:
By listing a watch you warrant that: you are its lawful owner or are authorised by the owner to sell it; it is not stolen, lost, financed, pledged, subject to a lien, or the subject of any third-party claim or dispute; it is not counterfeit, and is not a replica, 'franken' or aftermarket-modified piece presented as genuine.
In plain terms: it is yours to sell, nobody else has a claim over it, and it is what you say it is.
2. Where you and the watch must be
Chroniq is a UAE marketplace. Buyers are welcome to browse from anywhere, but sellers and their watches need to be here.
You confirm that you are resident in the United Arab Emirates and that the watch is physically located in the emirate you select when you list it. Chroniq is a UAE marketplace: a listing for a watch held outside the UAE may be removed, and a stated emirate that is not where the watch is held is a misrepresentation under these Terms.
This is why the listing form asks which emirate the watch is in, and why the WhatsApp number has to be a UAE mobile. The emirate you pick is shown to buyers on the listing — treat it as a statement of fact, the same as the year or the reference.
3. Documents, serials and photographs
You further warrant that every detail you provide is genuine and not misleading — including photographs, reference, year and card date, condition, and any box, papers, warranty card, invoice or authenticity document. Reproducing, altering, cloning or reusing another watch's serial number, warranty card or documents is strictly prohibited.
The part sellers most often get wrong is photographs. Use your own, of the actual watch you are selling. A picture of the same reference from somewhere else is a misrepresentation even when the watch is genuine and the photograph is flattering.
If you do not have the box, the papers or the warranty card, say so. A watch with an honest 'no papers' sells; a watch with papers that turn out to belong to something else does not, and it is a breach of these terms.
4. Who is responsible for the watch
Chroniq is a marketplace platform. Sellers are responsible for lawful ownership, authenticity, accuracy of listing information, and the right to sell the item.
Chroniq is not the seller, owner or buyer of any watch listed. We are not an authenticator, appraiser, escrow provider, or guarantor of payment, title or authenticity, unless we have stated so explicitly and in writing for a specific item.
This matters more than it might sound. We do not see your watch. Nobody at Chroniq inspects, handles or authenticates it, so if a buyer raises a problem, the answer comes from you and not from us.
5. If something is wrong
You agree to indemnify and hold Chroniq harmless against any claim, loss, cost or liability arising from your breach of these warranties — including claims relating to stolen goods, counterfeit goods, forged or cloned documents, or misrepresentation of a watch or its ownership.
Read that alongside the promise above: if a claim arises because a watch was not yours to sell, was counterfeit, or came with documents that were not genuine, the cost of that claim sits with you.
6. What we may do about a listing
Chroniq may remove, suspend, withhold, investigate, or report listings where fraud, stolen goods, counterfeit goods, document misuse, or suspicious activity is suspected.
We may act on a reasonable suspicion, and we may do it before asking you. That is deliberate — the alternative is leaving a possibly-stolen watch in front of buyers while we correspond.
Removing a listing is not a finding that your watch is counterfeit or stolen. If we have got it wrong, email hello@chroniq.ae and we will look again.
Where a listing is removed for a breach of our Acceptable Use Policy, any listing fee paid is not refunded.
7. Verification
A verified badge means our team checked the seller's identity or trade licence. It is not an authentication of the watch.
A badge says we checked who you are. It says nothing about your watch, and it does not make your listing more credible to a buyer who has done their own checking — which is the buyer you want.
Our Verification Policy sets out exactly what we check and what we do not.
8. Where to read the rest
The full agreement is our Terms of Service, which governs. Our Acceptable Use Policy lists what may not be listed and how reports are handled. Our Privacy Policy covers what we do with your data and any documents you send us.
If anything on this page is unclear, ask before you list: hello@chroniq.ae or WhatsApp.
